This Policy is provided in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using Sonder, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Adults Only Platform (18+)

Sonder is strictly limited to individuals aged 18 years or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, except where retention is required for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or enforcement purposes.

We may use age assurance or age verification measures, including third-party providers, where reasonably necessary.

Certain features of the Service, including creator monetisation or access to restricted adult content, may require additional identity verification through third-party verification providers.

2. The Information We Collect

"Personal information" means information or an opinion that identifies an individual or from which an individual is reasonably identifiable.

2.1 Information You Provide

You may provide personal information when you:

Create or manage an account

create or share content

interact with other users

contact support or moderation

make or receive payments

participate in promotions or surveys

complete identity verification for creator accounts or access to restricted features.

This may include:

Name, username, and contact details (such as email address and phone number)

date of birth or age confirmation

profile information, images, and written content

messages and interactions within the Service

records of communications with Sonder

marketing or consent preferences

identity verification information such as government-issued ID, facial verification data, or verification status provided through third-party identity verification providers.

Payment information is processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card details.

Some information is required to provide the Service. Other information is optional but may affect functionality.

2.2 Identity Verification Providers

Identity verification for creator accounts or restricted features may be conducted through trusted third party verification providers such as Yoti.

When verification is required, identity documents and biometric confirmation such as a selfie or facial match may be submitted directly to the verification provider through a secure process.

These verification providers process identity documents and biometric information on our behalf and return only a verification result or confirmation status to Sonder.

Sonder does not store copies of identity documents, biometric data, or facial recognition data used during the verification process unless such information is voluntarily provided to us by a user or required to be retained for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or regulatory purposes.

Information processed by third party verification providers is handled in accordance with their own privacy policies and security practices.

2.3 Content and Communications

We collect and store content and communications you create, upload, send, or receive through the Service, including associated metadata.

We may review content and communications where reasonably necessary to:

Enforce our Terms and platform rules

investigate reports, complaints, or safety issues

detect, prevent, or respond to harmful, abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful conduct

comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

We do not sell user-generated content.

2.4 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data, such as:

IP address and approximate location

device type, operating system, browser, and app version

log data, session activity, and feature usage

cookies and similar tracking technologies.

This information helps us operate, secure, analyse, and improve the Service.

Location information is used for identity, analytics, safety, and service operation purposes only and is not used to facilitate or infer physical meetings between users.

Sonder does not use personal information to arrange, facilitate, or promote in-person services or meetings between users.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Advertising and Platform Funding

Sonder may be funded through:

A percentage based service fee applied to creator tips and contributions

voluntary tips and promotional features

advertising, sponsored, or branded content.

We may use general usage data, inferred interests, approximate location, and self identified gender to deliver relevant advertising within the Service. Advertising data may be used in an aggregated or contextual manner.

Advertising and promotional systems are not designed or used to promote physical services or offline access.

We do not use sensitive personal information for advertising targeting, and we do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

Service providers that support hosting, moderation, security, analytics, identity verification, and payments

advertising and measurement partners

professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers

Law enforcement agencies, regulators, courts, or the eSafety Commissioner where required or authorised by law

other parties with your consent or at your direction.

Payment and financial transaction information may be shared with payment processors or financial infrastructure providers responsible for processing card payments, cryptocurrency transactions, or payout services.

We take reasonable steps to ensure third parties handle personal information consistently with Australian privacy law.

6. Overseas Disclosure

Some service providers may be located outside Australia. As a result, personal information may be transferred to and processed in other countries.

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle the information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, unless an exception under Australian law applies.

7. Content Visibility and Public Information

Your profile and content visibility depend on your account settings and the nature of the content.

Public content may be viewed, copied, reshared, or stored by others outside our control. Once information is public, Sonder cannot control how third parties use it.

8. Content Moderation and Safety Monitoring

We use a combination of automated systems, human review, and user reports to enforce our rules and maintain platform safety.

We may access, review, remove, or restrict content and accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or enforcement purposes.

Removed content may remain in backup systems or enforcement records for a limited period.

9. Sensitive Information

Sensitive information under Australian law includes information about health, sexual orientation, or similar matters.

Sonder does not require users to provide sensitive information. If you choose to share sensitive information through your profile or content, you consent to us handling it in accordance with this Policy. We apply additional safeguards where appropriate and do not use sensitive information for advertising targeting. Some content shared on the platform may involve adult or intimate subject matter. Users are responsible for deciding what information they choose to share publicly or privately within the Service.

10. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

support security and fraud detection

deliver and measure advertising.

You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings. Some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

11. Data Retention

12. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Data Breaches

If we experience an eligible data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

14. Your Privacy Rights

You may have the right to:

If you delete your account:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version on the Service and update the "Last Updated" date.

If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
